With continued growing interest and attendance, Philanthropies’ National Planned Giving Council (NPGC) held the 3rd Annual NPGC Conference on October 2-3, 2008, at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This year, the NPGC welcomed Dr. Lee Hausner as the keynote speaker. Dr. Hausner is an internationally recognized clinical psychologist, business consultant, and family wealth advisor. Her addresses “How Your Story is Written,” and “Wealth Transfer Strategies that Strengthen Families” were informative and popular events.

Other topics this session included:

Philanthropies is a department of the Presiding Bishopric’s Office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It serves as the central coordinating agency for all donations to the Church and its institutions—beyond tithing and fast offerings—with the goal of helping members and friends of the Church meet the needs of people worldwide. This is accomplished by focusing on those priorities selected and approved by the leaders of the Church and its institutions.
